Elke Babicki was a Registered Clinical Counsellor in private practice for over 30 years. Her clinical training included cognitive restructuring, solution focused short term therapy, EMDR, NLP, Gestalt, marriage and family counselling.
Born and raised in a small town in Bavaria Germany, Elke came to Canada for adventure and to study at U of T. She graduated with an Honours B.A. and a Masters Degree from the University of Toronto. She has led workshops in Europe and Canada designed for medical doctors, educators and mental health professionals, worked with individuals as well as corporations.
Elke’s memoir Identity – from Holocaust to Home – received awards and is now being adapted into a feature movie. She spends her time as a consultant to the movie and script writing.
Elke Babicki is a spectacularly gifted human being. She is the consummate counsellor with all the best credentials. But her gifts include so much more. Elke Babicki is an advisor and friend to many of us who dream and study about a better human future. Her intuitions are fascinating, her humility deep, her compassion vivid, her creativity immense as a writer and an entrepreneur for goodness. I met Elke Babicki on May 6, 2008, in Vancouver, when I was giving a talk in a downtown theatre. As we traded books and had a little time to chat, I realized immediately that here is someone with whom I can have a lot of meaningful conversation going forward. This has proven true, and I cherish her wisdom and encouragement in all things good.
